Sports!

Hello! Now it’s time to talk about sports in Canada. Canadian people practice a lot of sports during the whole year. Winter sports are the most popular in Canada.

The national sport is Lacrosse. The original play of lacrosse was  played with 100s of players on the field. It was played between tribes and it was used to end with an argument between tribes.
The name Lacrosse came from a French missionary called Jean de Brebeuf.  Later, William George Beers created a Lacrosse club and decided to stablish the rules of this sport.

Nowadays, It is played using a small rubber ball and a long-handled stick called lacrosse stick. The objective of the game is to score by shooting the ball into an opponent's goal, using the lacrosse stick to catch, carry, and pass the ball and try to avoid that the other team does that.

I knew Cannadians were good at sports but to be honest I had no idea they were good at Lacrosse.
I am currently working on my next post about some of the most popular sports in Ireland and "Hurling", which is a mixture of field hockey and Lacrosse happens to be one of them! have you ever heard of this sport before?
